Neuromodulators

Background: Some facial furrows are accentuated with facial expressions due to contraction of the muscles beneath the surface of the face. The wrinkles with movement also known as dynamic furrows can be softened or some cases eliminated with agents that temporarily weaken the underlying muscles of the face.

Treatment: Selective injection into the muscles responsible for the undesirable facial furrows requires a thorough understanding of the underlying anatomy. Once injected, it typically takes a few days, for the relaxation of the furrows to begin, peak softening of the furrows occurs within 2 weeks, and the effect lasts around 3 to 4 months. At that time the injections may be repeated.

Fillers

Background: With increasing age, one of the invariable changes is loss of some of the soft tissue fullness associated with youth ( deflation) or the impact of gravity resulting in sagging of some of the facial tissues. These two factors result in some of the hallmark features of the aging face deepening lines/ furrows from the nose to the outer corners of the mouth ( nasolabial folds) or the outer corners of the mouth to the chin, or underneath the rim of the eye socket ( tear trough).

Treatment: The volume deficits and some soft tissue decent can be treated with filler agents. The commonly injected materials calcium hydroxyapatitie ( Radiesse) or crosslinked hyaluronic acids ( e.g. Restylane, Perlane, Juverderm, Belotero) are nearly identical to naturally occurring materials within one’s own body, so the material are relatively long-lasting, well-tolerated, and exhibit minimal reaction.

Dr. Rubin was referred to me by three different people, my regular eye doctor in Hobe Sound, a friend who went to him for a procedure and also from a plastic surgeon in West Palm Beach… all three highly recommended him. I saw Dr. Rubin to have a chalazia removed from my eye lid. He also suggested that l think about having dry eye treatments, but that insurance does not cover the treatments.  I have been undergoing the treatments since December, (they are almost finished. ) My dry eye syndrome feels like it is gone . I no longer wake up with burry  eyesight reaching for eye drops.  The treatments have made a huge difference! Dr. Rubin and his staff are fantastic. Office visits are a pleasure, the office environment is friendly, knowledgeable and supportive .
